3D stamps allow for easy and quick decoration of vegetable-tanned leather, playing with relief. 3D stamps sculpt the material: volumes, textures, and details appear in relief and debossed, to decorate belts, wallets, cases, straps, bags, bracelets, or any other leather creation.

How to use a 3D stamp?

These leather stamps are to be used only on natural vegetable-tanned leather that has not been dyed or had a finish applied (otherwise, the pores may be clogged).

The leather must first be moistened with water using a sponge or sprayer until the leather slightly changes color.
To facilitate water absorption and allow for deeper marking, you can use a leather preparation for tooling.

We recommend using a marble slab as a striking surface to absorb vibrations and prevent mallet bounce.

The 3D stamp simply fits into the provided handle.

Strike the stamp with a sufficiently heavy mallet made of wood, polymer, or a maul (do not use a steel hammer, which would damage the handle). The stamp must be positioned flat on the leather, and the handle must be struck vertically.

Large motifs require much more pressure to mark the leather well. To achieve a more pronounced mark, a heavy handle (sold separately) can be used. Using a 3960-00 press can also be a good alternative to the striking handle for perfect marking, especially for stamps with many details.

Why choose a 3D stamp rather than a classic stamp?

Unlike traditional leather tooling, using 3D stamps is much simpler. It does not require the use of a swivel knife or mastery of leather tooling techniques.

The complete pattern is marked quickly and simply by striking the stamp handle, making this technique accessible to both beginners and experienced artisans.
